We are continuously working on improving the view of our website on mobile devices.
You can find information on our health weather on the health weather portal or under the heading ‘Maps/Health weather’ on this website.
The previous wildfire danger index will no longer be displayed on the new website because it exhibits significant weaknesses under certain weather conditions. We are currently working on developing a new, improved index. As soon as it has proven itself in practice, it will of course be integrated into the website and made available.
The weather forecast for weather sensitive people is currently being revised and will be integrated back into this website in a further expansion stage.
These are available via our portal. The link can be found on the start page below the ‘Current weather’ map tile (forecast map, precipitation, satellite images).

The INCA portal has also been revised and can be found at this address: Weather portal © GeoSphere Austria There you will find various forecast maps and also the precipitation map for snow depth in Austria. The link can also be found on the start page under the map tile ‘Current weather’ (forecast maps, satellite images etc.).
The weather forecast on the homepage also includes the mountain weather forecast for Austria and the federal states. To do this, select the desired federal state in the selection window at the top right of the map. However, the altitude profiles from the ZAMG website are no longer available.
This service will no longer be available on www.geosphere.at. Alternatively, there are a number of providers who continue to offer this service.
The ‘Weather forecast’ can be found as a map or table view on our homepage and under the ‘Maps’ section. You can select a federal state on the right above the map. If you zoom into the map (with +/- at the bottom right or with the ‘Ctrl’ key + the scroll wheel on the mouse) you will see additional places on the map depending on the zoom factor (all state and district capitals appear here). Use the left mouse button to move the section and click on the Austria symbol at the bottom right to switch back to the federal state view. You can click through the preview days on the bar below the map.
You can click on the individual towns and you will then receive a graphically prepared detailed forecast for the selected town for the current day and the next 7 days. You can search for and select further locations (all municipalities in Austria) using the location search on the right above the map (here you can query all municipalities in Austria).
Under the heading ‘Maps’ in the ‘Current weather’ section you will find the current measured values of the semi-automatic stations as a map or table view. The following weather parameters are available there: Temperature, precipitation, wind (speed, wind direction, wind peaks), sunshine duration, relative humidity and non-reduced air pressure.
When you select a weather station, you will see a graph of the selected parameter. You can then change this graph in the bottom left-hand area of the graph and display it as ‘10 minute values’, ‘hourly values’, ‘daily values’ or ‘monthly values’.
This data can be obtained via the Data Hub.
