Episode 4: Discovering the underground

Looking underground is worthwhile, as Ingrid Schlögl from the Department of Near-Surface Geophysics shows us. Her team has already been involved in excavations in Ephesus and Stonehenge and she has also tracked down various settlements from the Roman Empire in Austria. In this episode, you can find out what tools are available to geophysicists, what exactly a ‘drill jumbo’ is and what the earth sounds like.
