Climate information

Are current temperatures typical for the season? Where exactly did more or less precipitation fall last month compared to the average? Which weather extremes are being altered by anthropogenic climate change? How much has Austria warmed since pre-industrial times? What characterises Austria’s current climate? What records and extremes define it? How has Austria’s climate changed, and how will it develop in the future?

With its national meteorological measurement network and derived datasets, GeoSphere Austria monitors climatic particularities, places current events into a long-term context, and observes the state and development of the climate and its impacts in Austria in near real-time. Furthermore, the latest state of scientific knowledge is summarized objectively, independently, and comprehensibly in numerous articles.
